Reason Pochettino not totally happy with Burnley win. Here’s why
Mauricio Pochettino isn’t completely happy despite seeing his Chelsea side smash Burnley 4-1 at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
A Burnley own goal, and strikes from Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and second half substitute, Nicolas Jackson were enough to hand Chelsea a third straight win across all competition, but Pochettino is adamant his side could have been better.
Although happy with the victory, Pochettino believes his side must learn to finish off their chances.
“I’m so pleased because I think the players deserved the victory, we haven’t got what we deserved from the beginning of the season. But I think today was a solid performance,” Poch said after Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Burnley.
“We conceded one goal and it was tough to break down Burnley’s structure. In the second half, we dominated and fully deserved the result.
“It’s work and of course confidence. We are a young team, too many new players on the team so you have to build the confidence and the structure of the team.
“We are playing well but we need to improve and be more confident in front of goal. I am happy and at the moment we are building our confidence and three victories in the last three games is important for this young group.”
