Just in – Chelsea join chase for 15 year old wonderkid from MLS
Chelsea are interested in MLS wonderkid Julian Hall, according to a piece in the Evening Standard today.
The 15 year old almost made a piece of history when he became the second young player in Major League Soccer last week when making his debut for New York Red Bulls.
He only signed a long term contract last month, but Chelsea are among the teams chasing him. Man United, Man City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are the usual suspects apparently joining them.
The Blues’ attention was apparently piqued when Hall scored twice against our youth side in an under 15s game at the Generation Adidas cup match back in April. We’ve been scouting him ever since.
The new sporting directors have already bought twice from MLS in the last 14 months – goalkeepers Gabriel Slonina and Djordje Petrovic – and its status as an increasingly important proving ground for young players continues to grow.
