Enzo Maresca gives reason for Chalobah omission as he picks Christopher  Nkunku as Chelsea potential No 9 shirt holder

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca clear the air for omitting Trevor Chalobah from his pre-season squad and choose Christopher Nkunku as next potential No 9 shirt holder.

Enzo who joined Chelsea after Pochettino parted way with the club in mutual consent and he stated some facts about being signed by top club and what he needs doing to keep him at the Stamford Bridge.

According to Enzo Maresca that he signed for Chelsea to win trophies and to compete with top European clubs, from the domestic league, league cup, champions league and other competitions.

“When you join big club like Chelsea, you have to compete and try to win trophies”.

“We want to compete. Hopefully, we can win trophies as soon as possible”.

The Blues boss believe so much in Nkunku that he can do the job and he’s the player that will hold the club number 9 shirt after Aubamenyang departure.

Enzo Maresca: “Nkunku can play everywhere. He’s doing very well already”.

“He can play number 9, winger, attacking midfielder… he can play everywhere. I see football with player able to play in several positions”.

“I want players to develop and play in several positions”.

Chelsea fans were left in the dark following Enzo Maresca’s decision for omitting Trevor Chalobah from the pre-season tour squad, he has now cleared the air (open up) why he did that. He believes that he have enough potentials that can do the job.

Enzo Maresca on Trevoh Chalobah left out of US tour: “It’s always sad to leave a player out… but I’m here to take decisions”.

“We have Wes Fofana, Disasi, Tosin there. Also, we have Acheapong who’s doing fantastic”.
