European giants eye Chelsea defender, but Pochettino unlikely to sell

The links between Benoit Badiashile and other clubs in terms of a January move have looked silly so far. He’s spent the season so far recovering from injury, and when he’s fit he will be competing for starts here as potentially one of our best defenders.

But the links keep coming, and we’re having to reconsider whether it’s something the club would actually do.

Today’s Tuttomercato has a piece which details the sticky situation that Chelsea have got themselves into by signing players like Badiashile and offering them 7 and a half year contracts. It suggests loaning him to AC Milan, who are keen, might help with that.

We still can’t see it – Mauricio Pochettino must still consider Badiashile one of his best options despite the thrashing we received on Saturday in his return to Premier League action. With Thiago Silva also struggling, it seems a matter of time before Badiashile gets another shot here. Milan will have to wait.
