“He Wants Anfield! Premier League Winger Picks Liverpool Over Arsenal in Transfer Twist”
“Premier League Menace Eyes Liverpool Switch Over Arsenal in Shock Twist”
Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon has reportedly made it clear that if given the choice, he’d opt for a move to Liverpool over Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
Valued at around £75 million, Gordon has quickly become one of the most in-demand players in the current transfer window.
Though he was heavily linked with a switch to Anfield last summer, Newcastle succeeded in keeping him at St. James’ Park, where he played a vital role in helping them secure a Champions League spot and ending their long trophy drought.
Gordon leaning toward Liverpool move
According to Graeme Bailey of TBR Football, despite growing interest from both Chelsea and Arsenal, Gordon has a strong desire to join Liverpool—his boyhood club.
Both London giants are actively looking to strengthen the left wing ahead of the upcoming season, and Gordon is high on their shortlist.
Still, Bailey believes the 23-year-old’s heart lies with Liverpool:
“One day, I think he’ll end up at Liverpool. Will it be this summer? Probably not. But that’s where he wants to go. He’s definitely on the radar of Chelsea and Arsenal too—those clubs want upgrades on the left flank, and Gordon is a name they admire.”
“Gordon has become a prized jewel in Newcastle United’s crown”
Since joining from Everton in January 2023, Anthony Gordon has grown into a pivotal player for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle side, earning plaudits for his relentless work rate, high-intensity pressing, and fearless, direct approach in attack.
Renowned for his unpredictable and aggressive style of play, Gordon summed up his own impact with confidence:
“I know I’m a nightmare for anyone that I play against.”
While he looks set to remain at St. James’ Park for now, his long-term dream of donning the Liverpool shirt hasn’t gone unnoticed.
That ambition could still come to life down the road—even if a move this summer is unlikely.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also said to be leading the chase for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
