“Anfield Farewell Looms: ‘Brilliant’ Liverpool Talent Undergoes Medical Ahead of Exit”
“Medical Underway: ‘Brilliant’ Liverpool Star Set for Imminent Anfield Departure”
A Liverpool player is on the brink of yet another departure from Merseyside — his latest in a series of loan spells since joining the club as a teenager in 2017. Vitezslav Jaros, the Czech goalkeeper, has already experienced four loan stints across three countries, and he’s now set to add a fifth move in a fourth country.
Jaros set for medical ahead of Ajax loan deal
On Saturday evening, De Telegraaf reported that Ajax had reached an agreement with Liverpool to take Jaros on a season-long loan, with no option to buy. This follows earlier reports suggesting that Ajax coach Johnny Heitinga was eager to reunite with the 23-year-old.
Liverpool approved the move, recognizing Ajax’s participation in the Champions League and the shared tactical vision between their new manager and former Reds boss, Arne Slot.
Providing an update on Monday night, journalist Mike Verweij revealed via X that Jaros is scheduled to undergo a medical today before finalizing his move to the Eredivisie runners-up.
Liverpool Made the Right Call Sending Jaros on Loan to Ajax
Last season, Liverpool’s decision to keep Vitezslav Jaros as their third-choice goalkeeper proved wise. He was unexpectedly called into action during a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in October, stepping in after Alisson Becker picked up an injury. With Caoimhin Kelleher unavailable due to illness, Jaros made his competitive debut — and rose to the occasion.
Kelleher had already praised the Czech shot-stopper as “brilliant” during pre-season, and Jaros backed that up with a composed performance at Selhurst Park.
However, with the summer arrivals of Giorgi Mamardashvili and Armin Pecsi, Jaros’s chances of first-team action at Anfield have become even slimmer. Sending him on loan to Ajax makes perfect sense, especially now that the Dutch side is managed by Johnny Heitinga, who’s keen to work with him again.
The move offers Jaros the opportunity to play regularly at a high level — Ajax are Champions League contenders and perennial title challengers in the Eredivisie. While his long-term future at Liverpool is still up in the air, this loan could boost both his development and market value by giving him much-needed game time in a top European league.
