However, Liverpool supporters might find this decision bitter, as similar leniency was not extended to their club during the 2019 season when fixture congestion impacted their participation in other competitions.

Few fans will forget the grueling fixture schedule Liverpool faced in December 2019, when the team was required to play nine matches in just 26 days.
