Mo Salah delivers a cheeky dig at Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool clinches the Premier League crown.

Mo Salah playfully takes a jab at Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool secures the Premier League title.

The Liverpool forward found the net in yesterday’s 5-1 victory over Spurs, securing the Premier League title.

Mohamed Salah delivered a humorous jab at Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool secured their 20th English top-flight title on Sunday.

The 32-year-old forward scored during Liverpool’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, a win that crowned Arne Slot’s side Premier League champions with four games remaining.

Salah’s goal, Liverpool’s fourth of the match, marked his 28th in the 2024/25 league campaign and his first since signing a new two-year contract on April 10.

Although Liverpool previously claimed the league title in 2020, this was the first time players and fans could celebrate the achievement together since 1990. The earlier triumph was marked under COVID-19 restrictions, with only about 500 family members and friends in attendance.

When asked by Sky Sports which title felt more meaningful, Salah responded: “Ah, this is way better, 100 percent. Without Sadio, Jurgen, and Bobby, it feels different, but having everyone together, along with the fans, makes it even more special. With a new group and a different manager, proving you can achieve it again is truly something special.

He then suggested that he favors his role under Slot compared to his previous position in Klopp’s team. Salah explained: “The numbers speak for themselves.

“Now, I don’t have to focus as much on defending. The tactics are very different. I told him, ‘If you give me a break defensively, I’ll deliver offensively,’ and I’m glad I’ve been able to back that up. He listened, and the results are clear in the numbers.”

At 32, he is now the frontrunner for this season’s Premier League Golden Boot and a strong candidate for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot wasted no time in acknowledging his predecessor while addressing the crowd at Anfield.

“It feels amazing,” Slot said. “I don’t have much to say except to express my gratitude to Jurgen Klopp.”

In an interview with Match of the Day, he added: “I’m 99.9% sure there will be a message from Jurgen waiting for me when I check my phone.

“There have been many moments this season when we’ve been in touch. Last season, he showed what an incredible person he is by welcoming me so warmly.”

“But what mattered most was the team he built, which was capable of winning the trophy.”
