“Six Liverpool Stars Risk Missing Out on Premier League Glory”
“Six Liverpool Stars Face Missing Out on Premier League Winner’s Medals”
As of April 2025, Liverpool’s Premier League victory seems almost guaranteed. With only six matches remaining, they hold a commanding 13-point lead over Arsenal.
In fact, Arsenal’s position is closer to Aston Villa in seventh place – a nine-point gap – which makes any notion of a title race seem all but over. While Liverpool fans will be celebrating, some squad members might be feeling a bit anxious.
Winning the Premier League is no small achievement – Liverpool have only done so once – so every senior player will be eager to secure a winner’s medal by May. However, for six first-team players, that goal might not be attainable.
Six Liverpool Players Risk Missing Out on a Medal
Players must feature in at least five matches to qualify.
The most notable player at risk of missing out is summer signing Federico Chiesa. So far, he has made just four Premier League appearances – against Bournemouth, Brentford, Ipswich, and Fulham – meaning he needs one more game to qualify for a winner’s medal.
The other players at risk are less well-known but still part of the first team, despite their youth. Tyler Morton, Trey Nyoni, and James McConnell have not featured in the league this season but have made appearances in other competitions for the senior team.
Vitezslav Jaros has played in the Premier League but is unlikely to see more minutes, having had a rare opportunity in goal during the October match against Crystal Palace, when both Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher were injured.
Lastly, Jayden Danns, currently on loan at Championship side Sunderland, is unlikely to reach five appearances, having made just one earlier in the season. His time on loan has been marred by injury setbacks.
Liverpool Player Stats for 2024/25

The Rule Allows All Six to Potentially Earn Medals
There are 40 medals available, but additional ones could be given out.
Even if these players don’t make five league appearances, they may still receive a medal. The Premier League awards the champions 40 commemorative medals, each made of silver and 2.25 inches (5.7 cm) in diameter.
The winning team has the discretion to distribute these medals to players, coaches, and staff, as long as each player who has made at least five league appearances during the season receives one.
Additionally, the Premier League Board can approve extra medals if more than 39 players have made at least five league appearances throughout the season.
