“Utterly shambolic!”: Roy Keane unleashes scathing seven-word Liverpool verdict after shocking Fulham collapse

“Good grief!”: Roy Keane drops brutal seven-word Liverpool verdict after shocking Fulham collapse

Roy Keane likely found some satisfaction in tearing apart what was a dreadful first-half showing from Liverpool in London.

The Reds initially took the lead in their Premier League clash with Fulham, courtesy of a stunning 20-yard strike from Alexis Mac Allister.

But Fulham swiftly responded, slicing through Arne Slot’s supposed title contenders with three goals in just 14 minutes.

While a loss on Sunday wouldn’t be a fatal blow to Liverpool’s title ambitions—more a delay than a derailment—it was far from a display worthy of champions.

Roy Keane didn’t hold back as he slammed Liverpool’s lackluster performance.

Roy Keane didn’t hold back in his halftime assessment of Liverpool’s dismal showing at Craven Cottage, delivering a brutal verdict on Sky Sports.

The former Manchester United icon described Liverpool as looking like a “mid-table team” and barely concealed his disbelief over the defensive chaos on display.

“Liverpool have played more like a mid-table side,” he remarked.

“Liverpool defensively, my goodness…”

And honestly, who could argue? Ibrahima Konate escaped early punishment after a nervy mistake, while Andy Robertson gifted Fulham their second goal with a baffling pass deep in our own third.

Let’s be clear: Liverpool weren’t unlucky—Fulham dominated the momentum and ruthlessly capitalized on the opportunities we handed them on a silver platter.

Curtis Jones might be granted some leeway given he’s being played out of position at right-back, but as for Robertson and Konate? Their performances speak for themselves—and not in a good way.

The fullbacks were nothing short of dreadful in the capital.

Sofascore gave both Robertson and Jones a harsh-but-fair 5.7/10 rating (with just under an hour gone), after both were directly at fault for goals. Frankly, those numbers feel generous given the level of performance.

While Jones will eventually return to midfield, Robertson’s latest misfire could seriously prompt Arne Slot to reconsider his left-back options heading into the 2024/25 campaign.
