“Melissa Reddy reveals: Arne Slot ready to offload Klopp’s trusted star in a bombshell decision that shocks Liverpool fans!”
“Melissa Reddy reports: Arne Slot set to offload Klopp’s favorite in a stunning move that stuns Liverpool fans!”
Harvey Elliott’s future at Liverpool is increasingly uncertain following Melissa Reddy’s latest update.
The England youth international has struggled for game time under Arne Slot, featuring mostly in brief substitute appearances during the Dutchman’s first season in charge at Anfield.
Notably, his overall minutes have dropped significantly compared to the 2,786 he accumulated in 2023/24 under Jurgen Klopp. Interestingly, Klopp—now Red Bull’s head of football—previously admitted he hadn’t given Elliott enough playing time last season.
Slot, however, has leaned heavily on Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch, leaving Elliott with just 583 minutes across all competitions this season.
Minutes Played in 2024/25 (All Competitions)
Harvey Elliott – 583
Dominik Szoboszlai – 2,887
Alexis Mac Allister – 3,081
Ryan Gravenberch – 3,516
With his role diminishing, Elliott could be on the move this summer.
Melissa Reddy now reports that, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold’s potential summer move to Real Madrid, Harvey Elliott could also be sold—provided Liverpool receive a ‘good offer’ for him.
“The club have made Alexander-Arnold lucrative offers to stay, but they understand the appeal of a new challenge, a fresh lifestyle, and the prestige of playing for Real Madrid,” Reddy told Sky Sports.
**“Liverpool have shielded him from speculation as he wrestles with an emotionally charged decision.
“The club also recognize it would be hypocritical to be upset about Alexander-Arnold leaving for Madrid while being open to selling Elliott—especially considering he once rejected the Spanish giants to make Anfield his home.”**
Despite having more than two years remaining on his current contract, Elliott’s future at Liverpool remains in doubt.
Does Liverpool Need More Physically Dominant Midfielders?
A common argument in Premier League circles is that a midfield lacking physical presence can be a disadvantage. Given Elliott’s limited game time under Slot, it seems the Dutchman at least partially agrees.
That said, Elliott has proven to be a reliable option off the bench this season. His six goal contributions (four goals, two assists) equate to one every 97.16 minutes—an impressive return for a midfielder.
It’s unclear what more Elliott could do to earn Slot’s trust. The fact that the 46-year-old manager continues to rely heavily on the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai suggests Elliott remains on the periphery of his plans.
