Ange Postecoglou Faces Intensifying Sack Threat Amid Alarming Tottenham Crisis

Ange Postecoglou under fresh sack pressure following worrying Tottenham development.

Ange Postecoglou may face the sack due to increasing frustration among parts of the Tottenham fanbase, according to a former club scout.

Mick Brown — who previously served as chief scout for Man United and Blackburn and still has strong ties at his former clubs — told Football Insider that the growing discontent from supporters is a “worrying” indication for Postecoglou’s future.

This comes after travelling fans voiced their frustration to the players following the 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League round of 16 first leg.

The backlash was echoed by supporters back in North London, with many taking to social media to call for Postecoglou’s sacking, branding him “a joke” and “disgraceful.”

Since then, Spurs have battled back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League, but they still sit 13th in the table after 28 games.

Brown had earlier warned Football Insider that growing fan pressure could push Daniel Levy to sack Postecoglou, with supporters directing their frustration not only at the manager but also at the board.

Now, Brown has insisted that the mounting frustration at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has left both the club and Postecoglou in an increasingly uncomfortable situation.

Levy to Decide Postecoglou’s Future Amid Growing Pressure

Speaking to Football Insider on 10 March, Brown claimed that Postecoglou has only a matter of weeks to save his job at Tottenham, especially with key injured players now returning to the squad.

Now, the former scout — who has worked alongside elite managers such as Ron Atkinson and Sir Alex Ferguson — has stressed that Tottenham find themselves in a tough spot as frustrations continue to grow.

“Having the fans turn on the players is a bad situation to be in,” Brown told Football Insider.

“It’s worrying when it feels like you’ve lost the backing of the supporters, both as a player and as a manager, because that only increases the pressure.

“I’ve no doubt Levy will be taking notice of this, as the pressure is mounting on him as well.”

“The fans at Tottenham aren’t happy with the situation they’re in, and they’re making that very clear.

“Levy, as we’ve said before, has a history of sacking managers when the pressure starts shifting onto him.

“He’s held off so far, but the heavier that pressure becomes, the more likely he is to make that call.

“It’s an uncomfortable position for everyone involved, and if Postecoglou wants to keep his job much longer, he needs to win the fans back.”

Tottenham Face Must-Win European Clash as Tensions Rise Between Players and Fans

The growing impatience and frustration from Tottenham supporters has not only cast doubt over Ange Postecoglou’s future but has also sparked clashes between players and fans.

After last week’s 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was among those who confronted supporters as tensions flared.

However, following the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, Vicario issued a message urging fans to fully back the squad ahead of the crucial second leg against AZ.

With pressure mounting on both the players and Postecoglou, the Europa League round of 16 tie has now become a must-win encounter for Spurs.
