Several of Tottenham’s young talents are excelling on loan, with Jamie Donley, Josh Keeley, and George Abbott standing out in the EFL.
Yang Min-hyeok has also made a temporary switch to the EFL, joining Championship side QPR, and there are signs that his stint with the club could continue beyond this season.
Yang Min-hyeok has played 120 minutes in the 2024/25 Championship season so far, providing one assist but yet to score a goal.
Tottenham Starlet Yang Set to Stay at QPR
Yang Min-hyeok initially made his QPR appearances off the bench but was finally given his first start in style, playing a key role in their dominant 4-0 Championship victory over Derby County at Loftus Road on Friday, February 14.
The 18-year-old made an instant impact, registering his first assist in English football.
As a result, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham—speaking exclusively to Tottenham News—believes it wouldn’t be surprising if Yang stays on loan at QPR for another season.
“Yang got his first assist for QPR, which was great to see,” Wenham said.
“It seems like he’s well-liked at Loftus Road, and he’s already starting games, which is great to see. So, I wouldn’t be surprised—or against—the idea of him staying on loan at QPR next season.
“I could see him becoming one of their regular wingers. QPR have always relied on talented wide players; it’s a key part of their style. That would give him plenty of opportunities and ensure he sees a lot of the ball.”
Yang Could Become a Star at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
It would be impossible for Yang to overlook the influence Son Heung-min has had in North London over the past decade. Widely regarded as the greatest South Korean player of all time, Son has cemented his status as a Spurs legend.
Naturally, Yang will draw inspiration from his fellow countryman and will be eager to follow in the 32-year-old’s footsteps by making his mark in the Premier League.
However, those are huge shoes to fill, and for now, Yang’s priority will be on developing his game and adjusting to life in England.
