“Tottenham Closing In on ‘Defensive Monster’ Deal to Partner Danso”

“Tottenham Near ‘Broad Agreement’ to Land Defensive ‘Monster’ Alongside Danso”

Tottenham Hotspur have reached a “broad agreement” with Chelsea for a late loan move to sign Axel Disasi, according to insider Paul O’Keefe.

With the transfer deadline approaching on Monday, Spurs are eager to strengthen their defense following multiple injuries to key players. The situation has become even more urgent after Radu Dragusin suffered what the club fears is a “serious” knee injury.

This urgency has pushed Tottenham into action in the transfer market. After securing a late deal with Lens to hijack Wolves’ move for defender Kevin Danso on Saturday night, the club remains active in strengthening their backline.

Tottenham Reach Agreement for Disasi

However, Spurs aren’t the only ones in the race, as Aston Villa are also in contention for the Chelsea defender.

Danso was on the verge of joining Wolves on loan for the rest of the season, with a medical scheduled for Sunday. However, Spurs swooped in to hijack the move, striking a £20m permanent deal with Lens. With his medical already completed, the transfer is now close to being finalized.

Despite securing Danso, Tottenham are still eyeing further defensive reinforcements. According to agent and insider Paul O’Keefe, the club remains interested in signing France international Axel Disasi on loan.

Spurs have already reached a “broad agreement” with Chelsea for the move, but the final decision now rests with the player. However, they face competition from Aston Villa, who are also in the race for his signature.

Described as a “monster” at the back, Disasi had been leaning toward a move to Aston Villa in search of more regular game time, having struggled for minutes under Enzo Maresca behind Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, and Tosin in Chelsea’s defensive pecking order.

However, with no deal finalized, Tottenham’s late entry into the race presents a real possibility of another transfer hijack. If successful, Spurs could further bolster Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the crucial second half of the season.

Postecoglou’s side have endured a nightmare season so far, currently languishing in 16th place in the Premier League ahead of their crucial clash with Brentford on Sunday afternoon. However, Spurs are hopeful that key reinforcements—both in the transfer market and from injured players returning to full fitness—will provide the boost needed to climb the table and avoid any drastic managerial changes.
