However, Salah was eager to highlight the impact of the ‘incredible’ Alisson Becker after Liverpool’s hard-fought win at the Vitality Stadium—and for good reason.

With the Reds leading 1-0 early in the second half, Alisson produced a stunning reaction save to deny Antoine Semenyo what seemed like a certain equaliser, rushing out to block the Ghanaian’s effort.

Stephen Warnock praised the 32-year-old as ‘one of the best goalkeepers in world football’ for that stop, yet Liverpool’s No. 1 outdid himself with an even bigger moment 40 minutes later.

Alisson proves why Salah called him ‘incredible’

In the second minute of stoppage time, Bournemouth pushed for a consolation goal despite the game being out of reach, with Salah having already sealed Liverpool’s victory with a stunning strike.

Semenyo cut the ball back to Daniel Jebbison, whose shot took two deflections off Reds defenders and looked certain to find the net.

But Alisson had other ideas. In a moment of sheer brilliance, he not only spotted the ball’s altered trajectory but also adjusted his body in time to get a crucial glove on it, scooping it away before Liverpool cleared the danger.

After witnessing Alisson’s outstanding display against Bournemouth, it’s almost unbelievable to recall that he started the year on shaky ground, conceding avoidable goals to Amad Diallo and Chris Wood while underperforming in post-shot expected goals (PSxG) versus goals prevented.

However, that rough patch now looks like nothing more than a minor hiccup. The 32-year-old delivered two exceptional saves on the south coast, playing a vital role in ensuring Liverpool’s triumph. In the end, his heroics proved just as decisive as Salah’s match-winning brace.

At almost any other Premier League club, Caoimhin Kelleher would be a guaranteed starter. However, he’s had the misfortune of competing for a spot with Alisson, one of the world’s finest goalkeepers.
