“Levy Makes Game-Changing Decision on Postecoglou’s Future After Tottenham’s Defeat to Leicester”
“Levy ‘Makes Bold Call on Ange Postecoglou’s Future’ After Tottenham’s Defeat to Leicester”
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is treading on thin ice in North London.
Spurs endured their 13th Premier League loss of the season on Sunday (26 January), falling 2-1 to Leicester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with fans voicing their discontent towards Postecoglou.
Daniel Levy faced heavy criticism from Tottenham fans during the game, fueling speculation that the Spurs chairman might be close to sacking Ange Postecoglou, according to The Sun (26 January).
However, former Spurs scout Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, believes Postecoglou’s position is safe for the time being.
“They always say a manager is only as good as his players,” King commented.
“It seems like Postecoglou is constantly changing his lineup. Consistency is crucial for any team, but that’s hard to achieve when Postecoglou never gets the opportunity to field the same starting XI in back-to-back games.”
“Postecoglou is clearly feeling the pressure. I believe they’ll choose to back him for the time being, but it’s apparent he’s struggling to motivate the players.”
“Will Daniel Levy Stand by Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?
Postecoglou is finding it harder to defend his position in North London.”
Spurs currently sit 15th in the Premier League and could drop to 16th if Everton wins their game in hand, which explains the growing frustration and anger among fans.
However, Postecoglou is being forced to work with limited resources, as injuries keep piling up and no new signings have been made to strengthen the squad.
That falls on Levy, and it’s easy to see why the protests from fans against the chairman were louder than ever on Sunday.
If the 62-year-old chairman is determined to stand by Postecoglou, he’ll need to bring in reinforcements to strengthen the squad.
