Richarlison breaks his silence with a bold message after dropping a shocking ‘Tottenham bombshell’ to friends.
Richarlison delivers a powerful message following his shocking ‘Tottenham bombshell’ revelation to friends
Tottenham forward Richarlison took to social media to celebrate a crucial 3-2 Europa League victory over Hoffenheim on Thursday, January 23.
The 27-year-old marked his first start for Spurs since netting the decisive goal in their 1-0 Europa League triumph against AZ Alkmaar in late October.
Richarlison was substituted by Ange Postecoglou in the 56th minute, making way for Spurs wonderkid Mikey Moore after a quiet performance that included just five completed passes, three touches in the opposition box, and no chances created.
This comes amid growing uncertainty about his future, with Football Insider reporting on January 17 that the Brazil international has confided in friends about his desire to leave the club.
James Maddison set the tone early, opening the scoring just three minutes in, before captain Heung-Min Son doubled Tottenham’s lead in the 22nd minute.
Although Anton Stach pulled one back for Hoffenheim, Son responded with a brilliant second goal, securing his brace with a clinical finish from a tight angle.
David Mokwa added late drama in the 88th minute, but his effort wasn’t enough to prevent Spurs from leaving Germany with all three points.
Richarlison expressed his relief at getting a rare opportunity to play after a “long time” as Tottenham secured a vital win. The Brazilian has endured a challenging season, starting only two of his 10 appearances across all competitions, with three goals and one assist in 342 minutes of action.
Richarlison celebrated his rare start in Tottenham’s victory over Hoffenheim with a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing: “Important 3 points!!! Happy to start playing after a long time. Sunday’s have more!!!”
Tottenham’s victory over Hoffenheim propels them to sixth place in the new Europa League league phase, with 14 points from seven matches.
Spurs will now look to shake off their disappointing Premier League form as they prepare to host Ruud van Nistelrooy’s struggling Leicester City side on Sunday, January 26.
