“Liverpool Set £40m Asking Price for Harvey Elliott as January Transfer Talks Heat Up”
Liverpool have placed a £40m valuation on Harvey Elliott as the young midfielder sees reduced playing time under Arne Slot. With both Brighton and Borussia Dortmund showing interest, a January transfer could be in the works.
Harvey Elliott, who moved to Liverpool from Fulham for £4.3m after making history as the Premier League’s youngest debutant, enjoyed a standout season under Jürgen Klopp last year. However, this season has been more difficult, with a serious ankle injury and fierce competition for places limiting him to just nine appearances across all competitions, none of which were in the Premier League.
Borussia Dortmund, renowned for developing young talents such as Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, and Jude Bellingham, are reportedly interested in giving Elliott a fresh start. Brighton, known for their savvy transfer strategies, also see potential in the 21-year-old, who is yet to reach his prime.
Liverpool are willing to sell Elliott for a fee between £35m and £40m, recognizing the stiff competition he faces in both attack and midfield. Arne Slot has addressed Elliott’s reduced playing time, explaining that the player is still working to regain peak form after his injury.
“He’s a talented player, but like everyone else, he’s competing with many good players. In this league, with this tempo and intensity, it’s not easy to come back and be at your best immediately,” Slot said.
Since joining Liverpool, Elliott has made 128 appearances and scored 11 goals, but with January approaching, his future at Anfield remains uncertain.
