“Robbie Fowler slams Liverpool star, claiming he’s ‘not suited for Liverpool’ at this point in time.”

“Robbie Fowler delivers a scathing critique of Liverpool star, declaring he’s ‘not cut out for Liverpool’ at this moment.”

Liverpool icon Fowler has expressed criticism towards one player.

Robbie Fowler has stated that the more he watches one player in action for Arne Slot’s team, the more he feels he’s ‘not a Liverpool player.’

Fowler made these comments while working as a pundit for ITV during Liverpool’s FA Cup third-round match against Accrington Stanley.

Manager Arne Slot made several alterations to the lineup following Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup, with Diogo Jota and Wataru Endo being among the players to feature in the match.

Also making his way back into the starting XI is Darwin Nunez, who has netted only four goals this season and is facing growing speculation about his future at the club.

Liverpool legend Fowler was asked about Nunez’s situation ahead of the match and delivered a harsh critique.

He remarked: “For me, the more I watch him, the more I believe he’s not a Liverpool player. People might criticise me for saying that.

“You’re not signing a player just for his work ethic. You’ve got to come in and score goals. I know he’s a fan favourite for his effort, but in that Liverpool shirt, you need to do better and perform at a higher level.”

Despite his criticism, Fowler also expressed that Nunez has room for improvement, offering the Uruguayan valuable advice on what he needs to change.

He continued, “I don’t think his thinking is fast enough, especially when it comes to his finishing. He’s quick on the ground, but as a striker, his decision-making needs to be quicker than anything else.”

He added, “I think when he has time to think, he tends to struggle. When it’s more instinctive, it’s sometimes a bit better, but we’d still expect more. His speed of thought as a striker—knowing where he should be and how he finishes—needs to improve.”
