“Ange Postecoglou Reveals Shocking Rodrigo Bentancur Injury After Spurs Star’s Stretcher Exit Against Liverpool”

“Ange Postecoglou Reveals Devastating Rodrigo Bentancur Injury Blow After Spurs Star Stretchered Off Against Liverpool”

Bentancur was taken off the field on a stretcher.

Ange Postecoglou offered an update on Rodrigo Bentancur’s condition after the midfielder was stretchered off during Spurs’ Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool last night.

The incident occurred in the seventh minute when Bentancur attempted to head a corner towards goal but missed and fell face-first onto the pitch.

The 27-year-old received prolonged medical attention on the field, with play halted for nine minutes before he was stretchered off and escorted down the tunnel for further assessment.

It was later confirmed that Bentancur was conscious, alert, and able to communicate before being transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

In his post-match interview, Ange Postecoglou shared a brief update on the midfielder’s condition.

“There’s nothing too detailed at this stage,” Postecoglou explained. “He was conscious when he came off the field, and he’s been taken to hospital for observations. We’re hoping he’ll be okay.”

“It was quite distressing at the moment, seeing him go down like that—it affected the players,” Postecoglou admitted. “But credit to them for handling the adversity; they composed themselves and responded brilliantly.”

In his post-match press conference, Ange Postecoglou hinted that Rodrigo Bentancur sustained “some sort of head injury” during Wednesday night’s clash.

This isn’t the first time Bentancur has faced such an issue, as he also suffered a head injury in August last year during a collision with Leicester winger Abdul Fatawu.

“I don’t want to speculate. It was some sort of head injury,” Postecoglou said. “It was serious enough to concern his teammates.”

Spurs teammate Pedro Porro immediately alerted referee Stuart Attwell to the situation, urgently signaling for medics to intervene, as Sky Sports cameras refrained from showing the distressing scene.

Shortly after midnight, Rodrigo Bentancur shared a health update on Instagram while sitting with his long-term partner, Melany La Banca.

The 27-year-old midfielder reassured fans, writing: “All good, guys! Thank you for the messages!!! Congratulations for the victory boys!!!”

Bentancur, who recently made his return after serving a seven-match ban, has featured in 19 matches for Spurs this season, scoring one goal.

Spurs will meet Liverpool in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on February 6.
