Rodrigo Bentancur has provided a health update after being hospitalized during Spurs’ Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

The Uruguayan midfielder, who had just returned from a seven-match suspension, suffered a distressing injury after attempting a diving header inside the penalty box, which required prolonged on-pitch treatment.

The seriousness of the situation became clear when teammate Pedro Porro quickly alerted the referee and called for medical assistance, prompting Sky Sports to cut away from the alarming scene.

After receiving nine minutes of on-pitch medical attention, Rodrigo Bentancur was stretchered off to a standing ovation from supporters across the stadium.
