“Man City Set to Seal Four Elite January Signings, Top Source Reveals”

Former Everton chief Keith Wyness has stated that he anticipates Manchester City will make “up to four top-tier signings” during the January transfer window.

The 66-year-old, who served as Everton’s CEO from 2004 to 2009 and now leads a football consultancy advising top clubs, asserted that Manchester City will be prepared to spend heavily to strengthen their squad following a disappointing first half of the 2024-25 season.

Man City currently sit sixth in the Premier League, having won just two of their last 10 league matches, and are 22nd in the Champions League standings.

Pep Guardiola’s team has struggled to find form following the loss of Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, who sustained a season-ending knee injury earlier this season.

One potential target for a more attacking role is Dani Olmo, with Football Insider reporting on Wednesday (1 January) that Man City are intensifying their pursuit of the 26-year-old after Barcelona failed to register him.

Keith Wyness has suggested that Manchester City could bring in up to four new players by the end of the January transfer window. He believes any signings are likely to occur closer to the window’s closure on 3 February.

“We might see as many as four new players joining Manchester City.”

“I’m referring to top-tier signings. January comes with a premium, but I believe City will be prepared to meet it.”

“If Pep can bring in some fresh faces, it could reignite the squad and restore their momentum. He needs that injection of energy and competition.

“Recently, over the past two weeks, there’s been a noticeable uptick in City’s interest in this transfer window. While the deals might not happen quickly, we can expect some activity as the window approaches its close.”
