Mohamed Salah Speaks Out on Liverpool Contract Uncertainty

Mohamed Salah Breaks Silence on Liverpool Contract Drama

Mohamed Salah has raised new concerns about his contract situation following a stellar performance against West Ham United. The Egyptian forward revealed that he and Liverpool are still “far away” from reaching an agreement on new terms.

Salah was in scintillating form once again as Liverpool held off rivals Arsenal and Chelsea at the top of the Premier League. Aiming for their first title since the 2019/20 season, they now lead second-placed Nottingham Forest by eight points.

At the London Stadium, Salah contributed with a goal and two assists, making history as the first player in Premier League history to score and assist in eight matches in a single season. His performance further solidifies his position as one of the Premier League’s top talents.

Remarkably, the 32-year-old, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2025, has netted 16 goals and provided 11 assists in just 17 league appearances this season, playing a key role in Arne Slot’s early success at Anfield.

Alongside Salah, both Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also nearing the end of their contracts. However, given Salah’s pivotal role in the post-Jurgen Klopp era, fans are eager to see him extend his remarkable seven-year stay at Liverpool.

Speaking after Liverpool’s commanding 5-0 win over West Ham to close out the year, Salah admitted that, much to the disappointment of Anfield supporters, there has been little progress in contract negotiations with the club.

“No, we are far away from that,” Salah told Sky Sports when asked if fans could expect positive news on the contract front anytime soon.

The experienced winger, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s rich history, emphasized that his focus is firmly on securing silverware during Arne Slot’s first season in charge.

“I will do my best for the team to win the trophy,” he stated, before adding, “A few other teams are catching up with us, so we need to stay focused, humble, and keep pushing forward.”
