Mo Salah Breaks Billy Liddell’s Liverpool Record with Stunning Quickfire Double Against Spurs

Liverpool were exceptional in the first half against Tottenham and returned for the second half as a team eager for more, with Mo Salah leading the charge.

Heading into the match, Mo Salah was just one goal behind the legendary Billy Liddell, who retired as Liverpool’s all-time appearance leader and second-highest scorer.

As Cody Gakpo delivered a cross, Dominik Szoboszlai couldn’t find the net, but his goal-scoring partner, Salah, was perfectly positioned to match the record set by the former No.11.

Just minutes later, the Hungarian again combined with his teammate, and this time it was a perfectly timed pass that enabled the 32-year-old to surpass a scoring record that had stood since March 1960—achieved in 161 fewer matches than it took Liddell to set it.

After becoming the first player in Premier League history to notch 10 or more goals and assists before Christmas, it was a day to remember for the former Roma star.

If he’s aiming to surpass every record set by our legendary Scotsman, the only position Salah hasn’t played for the Reds is goalkeeper – another challenge for him to conquer!

For now, his sights are set on Gordon Hodgson’s scoring record!
