Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has criticized Andy Robertson’s recent performances, highlighting the defender’s costly errors that contributed to Liverpool’s dropped points against Fulham on Saturday.

Jamie Carragher Calls for Liverpool to Sign Milos Kerkez After Andy Robertson’s Struggles

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged the club to address their left-back dilemma following Andy Robertson’s costly performance against Fulham. Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher singled out Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as a viable solution, praising the 20-year-old’s impact in the Premier League.

The match was a nightmare for Robertson, who endured a heavy challenge from Issa Diop early on—a tackle many believed deserved a red card, though VAR disagreed. Robertson’s struggles continued when his poor positioning allowed Andreas Pereira to open the scoring for Fulham. Minutes later, a heavy touch from the Scottish international led to a foul on Harry Wilson outside the box, earning Robertson a straight red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Although Cody Gakpo equalized in the second half and Diogo Jota rescued a late point, Robertson’s performance sparked debate over his recent form and Liverpool’s lack of depth in the left-back position.

Carragher stressed the need for reinforcements, particularly pointing to Kerkez’s potential:
“Kerkez has been a revelation at Bournemouth. Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes brought him there, and he’s a proper full-back—aggressive, quick, and superb since arriving in the Premier League.”

Robertson’s inconsistent form this season has added to concerns, with errors in key matches against Southampton and Real Madrid raising further questions. While Robertson remains a fan favorite, Carragher believes Liverpool must look to the future, with both Kerkez and Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies touted as potential long-term solutions.
