With just six months remaining on his current contract, Mohamed Salah recently revealed that he hasn’t received an offer to extend his deal and hinted that he may be closer to leaving Liverpool than staying. However, the club has since presented a new offer, which Salah has yet to sign.
In an interview with AS, Alexis Mac Allister spoke about Salah’s impact on the team, highlighting his leadership both on and off the field despite the ongoing contract discussions.

Mac Allister also addressed the contract situations of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, who are also nearing the end of their deals. He expressed hope that all three players, including Salah, will decide to remain at Liverpool.
“Trent and Virgil are vital for us,” he said. “Trent’s quality is undeniable. He’s often criticized for his defensive duties, but I believe he’s strong at both ends of the pitch. Like Salah, he’s in talks, and we hope he stays.”
Liverpool manager Arne Slot also weighed in on Salah’s future after his key goal in the thrilling 3-3 draw with Newcastle.
“Whenever we need Mo Salah, he delivers,” Slot said. “We’re hoping and expecting he will continue this for a long time. He was exceptional in the second half and provided many special moments for us.”
