Liverpool Star Poised to Sign New Deal After Landmark Compromise Reached

Liverpool Star ‘Set to Sign New Contract’ After Groundbreaking Compromise Reached

One Liverpool player is poised to extend his time at Anfield.

A Liverpool star is reportedly nearing a new contract to prolong his stay at Anfield.

The Reds have made an exceptional start to the 2024/25 season, sitting at the top of both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tables.

Under the management of Arne Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp in the summer, the team has suffered just one defeat—a surprising 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

On Saturday, Liverpool were scheduled to play in the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park, but the match was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Despite their strong start to the season, concerns have begun to surface regarding the contracts of some of Liverpool’s key players.

Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold could leave on free transfers at the end of the season if the club fails to secure new deals with the trio.

Recently, Salah himself admitted he was “more out than in” as he revealed he had yet to receive a new offer from Liverpool.

“We’re almost in December, and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay at the club,” Salah said after Liverpool’s 3-2 victory at Southampton last month.

“I’m probably more out than in. You know I’ve been at the club for many years. There’s no club like this, but in the end, it’s not in my hands. As I said, it’s December, and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.”

However, on Saturday night, reports emerged suggesting that Salah is closing in on a new deal with Liverpool.

According to The Mirror, Salah is on the verge of signing a new two-year deal to extend his stay at Anfield.

The report stated: “Mo Salah is on the verge of signing a new two-year contract with Liverpool, putting an end to any doubts about his future at Anfield.”

“A compromise deal has been reached between the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, and the 32-year-old Egyptian star after months of negotiations. Salah’s long-time agent, Rammy Abbas, had requested a three-year contract, while initially, the club was only willing to offer a one-year extension once the current agreement expires next summer.”

Following the postponement of the Everton vs Liverpool match, the Reds will return to action on Tuesday, facing Spanish La Liga side Girona in the Champions League.
