“West Ham Issues Important Update on Michail Antonio After Car Crash Incident”

West Ham has issued a follow-up statement confirming that striker Michail Antonio was involved in a car crash on Saturday.

West Ham has provided an update on Michail Antonio’s condition following the car accident, confirming that he is now conscious, able to communicate, and in stable condition. The incident first drew attention when a photo of a severely damaged Ferrari in a wooded area circulated online, sparking speculation about Antonio’s involvement.

Shortly after the crash, West Ham confirmed the accident and expressed their “thoughts and prayers,” as fans quickly flooded social media with messages of support for his recovery.

The latest statement from the club reads: “West Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident this afternoon in the Essex area.
Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital.
At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family.
The Club will make no further comment this evening but will issue a further update in due course.”

Antonio, 34, made his 14th appearance of the season last Tuesday, coming on as a substitute during a 3-1 defeat to Leicester City, marking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s debut as their manager.

Since joining West Ham in 2015 from Nottingham Forest for £7 million, Antonio has made 322 appearances, scoring 83 goals. With 68 Premier League goals, he is the club’s all-time top scorer in the competition.

Initially used as a defender or winger, Antonio was later converted into a striker, taking on the No.9 shirt and becoming a central figure at the London Stadium.
