“Scenes Outside Old Trafford: Tension Mounts Ahead of Man Utd vs. Nottingham Forest Amid Postponement Rumors”
“Manchester United released a statement prior to their match against Nottingham Forest following the postponement of Everton vs. Liverpool.”
A concerning video outside Old Trafford has surfaced ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Nottingham Forest, as fears grow that the game could be called off due to Storm Darragh.
On Saturday, the Met Office issued a red weather warning, forecasting winds of up to 90mph expected to wreak havoc across the United Kingdom. As a result, the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool was postponed.
The lunchtime kickoff was abandoned “due to the risk to safety in the local area,” with several EFL fixtures also falling victim to the extreme weather conditions.
Notts County announced that their match against Colchester United had to be postponed after panels on the Kop scoreboard at Meadow Lane were found to be loose.
Manchester United are set to host Nottingham Forest in Saturday’s evening kick-off, but questions have been raised about the safety of supporters attending the match.
Players arrived at Old Trafford earlier, with fans braving the conditions in hopes of securing autographs. Nathan Salt of the Daily Mail shared a video of summer signing Leny Yoro interacting with fans. However, the most striking element of the clip was the howling winds, audible hours before the scheduled start of the game, adding to concerns about the fixture going ahead.

For now, Manchester United have confirmed that their clash with Nottingham Forest is still set to proceed as planned. However, the club emphasized that they are working closely with authorities and will update fans promptly if the situation changes.
“Today’s Premier League fixture at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is scheduled to go ahead as planned,” the club stated, according to Daily Mail journalist Chris Wheeler.
“The club will remain in consultation with the relevant authorities throughout the day and will provide immediate updates to supporters if there are any changes,” Manchester United added.
Storm Darragh has already wreaked havoc on the sporting calendar. On Friday, Championship fixtures between Cardiff City and Watford, and Plymouth Argyle and Oxford United, were postponed. Additionally, all football and rugby matches in Wales were called off, along with racing at Aintree.
The fierce winds have caused widespread devastation, toppling trees that crushed cars and houses, flooding roads, and leaving thousands of people without power.
