“Man Utd Fans Unleash Fury on ONE Player Following Devastating Home Defeat to Nottingham Forest”
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United endured a surprising home loss to Nottingham Forest.
Manchester United fans have directed their anger at ONE player after their devastating home loss to Nottingham Forest.
The defeat marked United’s sixth Premier League loss of the season, as Ruben Amorim’s side fell 3-2 to Nuno Espirito Santo’s Forest on Saturday.
Forest took an early advantage when Nikola Milenkovic scored with a header from a corner kick.
However, the Red Devils equalized through Rasmus Hojlund.
In the second half, the hosts collapsed, conceding two goals in just seven minutes.
Morgan Gibbs-White restored Forest’s lead, before Chris Wood’s looping header made it 3-1.
Bruno Fernandes pulled one back for Manchester United with a goal shortly after the hour mark.
However, Man United fans took to social media to express their frustration, criticizing Lisandro Martinez for his role in two of Forest’s goals.
The Argentine defender was at fault for failing to prevent Milenkovic’s header from the set-piece and made a bizarre mistake by allowing the ball to pass him after Wood’s header flew over Andre Onana.
One X user commented: “Martinez has to go. He’s so poor.”
A second user posted: “Can’t believe Lisandro Martinez used to be compared to the likes of VVD and Saliba.”
A third wrote: “I’m now seeing the inadequacy of Lisandro Martinez at corners.”
A fourth remarked: “Yeah, Lisandro Martinez, you were a good guy, but it’s time to go.”
Another fan commented: “Lisandro Martinez proving again why he’s the worst defender when it comes to aerial duels.”
Martinez was brought to Manchester United by Erik ten Hag in a £57 million transfer deal.
Since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022, he has made 77 appearances across all competitions.
However, his recent performances have fallen short, with Man United fans voicing their frustration over his latest display for the club.
Man United remain stuck in 13th place in the table and will resume their league campaign next Sunday with a highly anticipated clash against cross-town rivals Manchester City.
