“Egyptian Legend Sparks Frenzy Among Liverpool Fans with Stunning Mo Salah Contract News”
“Egyptian Icon Sends Liverpool Fans Into Frenzy with Shocking Mo Salah Contract Update”
The post caught Liverpool fans off guard.
A former Egypt star has revealed he knows where Mohamed Salah’s future stands, with his Liverpool contract set to expire next summer.
Salah has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists in just 14 Premier League matches, leaving fans eager for him to sign a new deal and stay at Anfield.
However, the Egyptian forward has raised uncertainty about his future, stating in media interviews following Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Southampton last month that he felt “more out than in” and had not yet received a contract offer from the club.
After the 2-0 win over Manchester City the following Sunday, Salah further fueled speculation, telling Sky Sports: “Honestly, it’s in my head, until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool, so I was just going to enjoy it.”
Speculation has been swirling about Mohamed Salah’s potential next club if he departs Anfield, with rumored interest from PSG and a renewed offer from the Saudi Pro League on the horizon.
However, former Egypt defender Haytham Farouk has shockingly stated that all of this speculation is unnecessary.
Taking to Twitter, the 53-year-old appeared to congratulate Salah on his new contract with Liverpool.
“Congratulations on renewing your contract with the number you like and the period you want,” Farouk wrote.
“The Egyptian King rules with his own judgments.”
The post generated excitement among Liverpool fans, especially since Farouk is one of only 146 people Salah follows on Twitter.
Farouk, an analyst for beIN Sports, is clearly close to the Liverpool star. He made 13 appearances for Egypt and had a successful club career, including playing in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
However, some cautious fans suggested that, given the timing of the post during Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Newcastle on Wednesday, it might simply be a message indicating that Salah, after scoring twice in that match, now has the power to demand any contract he wants.
Speaking after the 3-3 draw, in which Salah scored twice in the second half, Liverpool manager Arne Slot praised his star forward, saying: “Every time we need Mo Salah, he scores a goal.”
“We are hoping and expecting he can continue this for a long time. He was outstanding in the second half. He did many special things for us,” Slot added.
