Some Chelsea fans are in uproar after transfer insiders make a bold, definitive claim about Liverpool.

Reports suggest Caoimhin Kelleher is not set to swap Anfield for Stamford Bridge anytime soon.

Both Fabrizio Romano and Ben Jacobs agreed on X (formerly Twitter) that Chelsea have no current interest in the Liverpool goalkeeper.

One could argue that this is a remarkable turn of events, especially considering the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper’s form, which undeniably places him among the Premier League’s top ‘keepers.

Chelsea fans are growing increasingly frustrated with Robert Sanchez.

If a few reactionary tweets from Chelsea fans are any indication, the news has not been well received by the Stamford Bridge faithful.

On the surface, it’s easy to sympathize. In the eight matches Caoimhin Kelleher has stepped in for the injured Alisson Becker, the former Ringmahon Rangers player has helped Liverpool secure seven wins out of eight.Of course, that statistic doesnā€™t fully reflect the exceptional defensive performances of Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk, who have been outstanding at the heart of the defense.Nevertheless, it’s important to highlight the 25-year-oldā€™s impressive save percentage of 77.8%, which currently ranks him fourth among Premier League goalkeepers, according to FBref’s statistics.

Robert Sanchez is edging out Kelleher with a higher save percentage.

Interestingly, the former Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper sits comfortably in second place with a save percentage of 79.6%, having played more than double the number of games as Kelleher.Though the difference might seem small, it stands out considering Sanchez has had to make more saves per 90 minutes than his Liverpool counterpart. This is even more significant when factoring in the weaker defense he has behind him, compared to the league-leading backline of Liverpool. While this doesn’t account for their ball-playing abilities or the quality of chances faced, it may suggest that some Chelsea fans need to show more patience with their No. 1.
